Every job requires you to have a certain set of skills, they may all come from different specialist companies. Depending of who they are and what they will be doing for you depends on the type of brief you give them.

Why write a brief? 
- it leads to better, more effective and measurable work
- it saves time and money
- it makes remuneration fairer

1) Better Work:
A brief is the most important piece of information issued by a client to an agency (the person they are asking to work for them) It is an essential document that gives instructions and orders.
It can be difficult to produce a good piece of work without a brief as there are no order or instructions to follow.

2) Saving time and money:
The biggest waste of an agencies resources is to put them through the process of developing a solution repeatedly with a certain direction to follow.
Both clients and agencies say that time pressures are the main reason for inadequate client briefs.
55% of the time briefs are altered once the project has started.

3) Fairer remuneration:
Finance and pay is one of the biggest issues with project of a large scale. In general there is a lack of accountability for the sums of money they are going to spend.
Briefs are adjusted to the person they are being given to which could out line the hours they will be needed next to the money that they will be paid for this.
The brief will contain objectives and a success criteria to mark against.


Written briefs: 
Most people agree that a combination of written and verbal briefs are ideal for completing a project.
Both parties see a massive benefit from reading a written document first and then asking for clarification verbally.
